The Rollers Ride
Enjoyed by many local bicycle enthusiasts, this 26 mile round trip ride has a little flavor for every rider. A relatively flat ride with a series of fun climbs and descents creates the feeling of riding a rollercoaster. You may be tempted to display your delight by raising your hands in the air, but please keep them placed firmly on the handle bars for the safety of wildlife and your life. Enjoy the awesome views of the Bear River basin, Sims Mountains, and Woodruff Narrows Reservoir.
Starting at Depot Square, turn east through the 9th Street underpass. A pedestrian tunnel at the underpass is provided for your safety. Turn left onto County Road and proceed north to the traffic light at the intersection of County Road and Highway 89. Turn left at the traffic light and continue north along Highway 89. With traffic speeds increasing to 65 mph plus, please stay to the right side of the highway between the pavement edge and the white line. Always remain alert to hazards such as gravel on the road’s surface and approaching vehicles. Approximately 7.5 miles from the Depot or right before the Hornet’s Nest gas station, turn right onto the Whitney Canyon Road and enjoy the ride. At the end of the pavement, return on the same route to the Fresh Air, Freedom and Fun City of Evanston.
