Almy Firehouse Ride

The Almy Firehouse ride includes the original time trial course of the High Uintas Classic Stage Race.  The time trial course, as well as the Almy Firehouse ride, provides flat terrain to obtain maximum cycling speeds traveling in both directions.  If you want a fast ride where wind and tire friction provide the only resistance on your thighs, then this is the ride for you.

Beginning at Historic Depot Square in downtown Evanston, turn left at the intersection of 9th Street and Front Street and travel through the underpass.  A pedestrian tunnel is provided for safe passage.  As you exit the underpass, turn left onto County Road.  Follow County Road to the traffic light located at the intersection with Highway 89.  Turn left onto Highway 89 and travel north approximately 1.3 miles to County Road 107.  Turn left onto County Road 107 and travel past the power substation.  The power substation marks the beginning and finish of the High Uintas Classic time trial course.  County Road 107 parallels Highway 89 and extends to the north to reconnect with Highway 89.   When you reach the northern end of County Road and the Almy Firehouse located to the right of the roadway, make a turnaround and return to Evanston.
